Swimming, Kids and More Swimming | Vancouver Island Photographer

With the skies grey and cloudy and the temperature finally starting to dip into single digits, I find myself thinking a lot about summer.

We were so fortunate to spend loads of time this year with good friends who were gracious enough to invite us to their cabin on Sproat Lake. Paul and I have been friends since elementary school and it is so amazing that our kids get to have some of the same experiences we did when we were young.

Plus, it is so great to visit and catch up! Especially when there are docks, diving boards and kids galore!

Thank you to Paul, Melissa and Lois for sharing time with us this summer. It was so much fun!

Kayaking, Seals and Family Bliss | Vancouver Island Photographer

We bought Kayaks.

I mean, why not? It's a short drive to the Ocean in Mill Bay and the water is, normally very calm.

Plus, kayaking usually calms the kids.

On this day, however, the winds were just as blustery as Yelaina's mood.

I got a little seasick bouncing around in the waves. I got totally annoyed at the kids and their bickering and, I will admit, I got super excited about the lazy seals laying on the docks of Brentwood College. It was an interesting mix of emotions.

And despite the fact that we were all excited to get of the water this day, we are still talking about our watery adventure!

Here are some of our favourite shots while paddling around Mill Bay harbour.
