Week One: Part 1 | Photographing Goldstream Trestle
A few years ago, I did a project 365. That's one photo for every day of the year.
It was a big undertaking and, to be honest, the only thing I came out with was way too many photos on my poor old computer. The timing just wasn't right for any personal development, photographically speaking.
But, I have a new computer now and a more realistic mindset...;-)
Rather than shackling myself to another project 365, I have decided to create a photo story each week. That's 52 stories documenting our family adventures throughout this year.
It's still a big task. But I am already seeing benefits. For the first time in over a year, I am excited to pick up my camera and I am totally eager to learn new things. Plus, I am in full travel planning mode. I cannot wait to get out and explore this Island with Marek and the kids. That's a win in my book.
I started this project on January 1st, though my posts are starting late as my first 3 weeks were shot primarily on film. I'm fine with that though, as I just adore shooting analogue.
I shot Week One on an expired roll of film and, even though it is super grainy and a little blown out in places, I just love the character that the film adds to the photos.
So here are my favourites from our New Year's hike up Goldstream Trestle in Victoria. Enjoy!
